38 teams from 16 countries of the world, including one team from Russia, made it to the $ 10M ANA Avatar XPRIZE semifinals. In September 2021, teams will demonstrate the capabilities of their systems in the US qualifying tests. The best teams will advance to the final scheduled for summer 2022. The prize pool for the $ 10M ANA Avatar XPRIZE competition is $ 10 million.
The $ 10M ANA Avatar XPRIZE is a four-year international competition that kicked off in 2018. The goal of the competition is to develop, improve and accelerate the introduction of promising technologies into a system of multifunctional avatars, which will allow the transfer of human skills and experience to any point in space without hindrance - be it planet Earth or a lunar station. The robot avatar will allow the remote operator to see, hear and act as if they were on the scene.
