It's been a year since our first review of Petoneer . During this time, the collection has been replenished with new gadgets that simplify the care of pets. We have tested, verified and actively used the devices.
The Petoneer brand was created in one of the divisions of the Chinese holding SkyRC. When you have engineers and your own production, you can experiment and make niche gadgets. The specialists from the Petoneer team decided to combine their two passions - love for automatic devices and love for animals - to make the life of domestic cats and dogs healthy and happy.
The vast majority of the brand's gadgets are smart: everything is controlled through one free Petoneer app for Android and iOS devices. The application is fully translated into Russian. Smart Feeders Petoneer

There are two feeders: Petoneer Nutri Feeder and Petoneer Nutri Vision Feeder . They are equally good at the "feed the cat or the dog on time" task. Dry food is poured into a 3.7 liter container. The plastic impeller measures the correct amount of portions and empties them directly into the removable bowl. A cat or dog eats pellets from a bowl; when the time is right, the trough will pour out some feed again.
Petoneer feeders are connected via Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz. They can be controlled remotely through the application from anywhere in the world. The number of portions and the feeding schedule are configured from the smartphone. Push notifications tell you how your furry friend's lunchtime went. Inside the body there are infrared sensors that monitor the amount of feed in the container. The food will begin to run out - the feeder will warn you about this in advance: by push and light on the body

and Nutri Vision Feeder are mains powered. In addition, in their lower part there is a slot for a power bank: if desired, the feeder can be equipped with an emergency power supply. If the electricity in the house goes out, this will not prevent the feeder from working further.

Without communication, Nutri Feeder will stop sending notifications to applications that the pet is fed. As a rule, when the electricity goes out, then the Wi-Fi is turned off too. But the trough will regularly dispense food on schedule.

Dimensions and principle of operation are the same for the feeders. The main difference is video filming. The Nutri Vision Feeder has a camera. The all-seeing eye of Sauron looks at the pet while it eats from the bowl or rushes in the field of view of the feeder. Technically, it's a 120ᴼ 720p wide-angle lens, plus a microphone and speaker to communicate with your pet. The base Nutri Feeder does not include camera and audio.
The camera is not a whim and not a luxury, but a means of communication. It is logical to assume that we want to know what the pet is doing while people are not at home. The cat won't tell you that the curtains were torn up. The dog will arrange a rout, but will flatter and wait for approval from the owner. With the camera, the number will not work, it will finally be possible to make everything secret clear.

By the way, conversations on the camera scare some animals, so it's better to test the function before you go to your friends to celebrate the New Year and leave your pet alone with the robo baby girl. Let's say right away that the sounds of spilling food have a beneficial effect on pets. After the third time, even the most unwise ones resort to a magical source of food from the far corner of the house.
The food container can and should be washed, because otherwise it and the impeller become covered with a greasy coating with adhering crumbs, but food plastic can be easily cleaned under running water.
The bowl is removed. The "tower" itself - the feeder remains unapproachable, it is quite massive - 23 × 24.6 × 35.2 cm - and is tightly closed with a lid with a button.

Ever notice that a cat and a dog would rather lap from the tap than from a bowl of water? There, the water is flowing, as in good natural springs. And in a bowl - standing, which is overgrown with dust, wool, pieces of food. Harmful and tasteless.

Well, Petoneer has an answer to this question too. Two drinkers, the Fresco Mini Plus and the Fresco Ultra , start the fountain and clean it along the way.
Drinking bowls are made of food grade plastic and can be disassembled into separate parts: body, water tank, filter cover and support, pump. The reservoir can be washed by hand, being careful not to wet the contacts. Then you need to pour water into it, connect all the parts together, put the filter in the stand and connect the power.

It is worth filling and starting the drinking bowl, the LEDs will immediately light up, the pump will turn on and start the fountain. The water from the lid flows back into the reservoir and is purified again. So it will circulate until it reaches the minimum mark. Filters remove large debris such as wool and pieces of food, bleach, unpleasant odor and hardness salts - that is, they soften the water. The system works automatically, without preliminary installations and connection. For fine-tuning, welcome to the application.
Drinkers connect to Wi-Fi and the Petoneer app. It is common, the same as for feeders. The drinker will work without a network, but to remotely monitor its condition, you need the Internet.
For both drinkers, you can view the water level via a smartphone and find out when it is time to replace the filter and clean the pump. For Fresco Ultra, the app additionally shows the water hardness that the sensor monitors and allows you to enable UV sterilization.

U Fresco Ultra information about the amount and quality of water is duplicated by LEDs on the front side. 4 lights glow blue - everything is fine. 1 red - a sign that it is time to add water to the tank.
The Fresco Mini Plus has a backlight on the back of the bowl. Changes from blue to red when user interaction is required. And in fact, and in another case, the light can be turned off at night.
Drinkers differ in tank capacity, size, filter and equipment.
Fresco Ultra - 20.8 x 19.8 x 18 cm, 2 liters. Uses a 3-stage filter and built-in UV lamp. It kills germs in water and other disease-causing organisms. There are also pump sponge and mesh filters that trap excess fines. An adapter is included with the drinker.
Mini Plus is smaller - 18 x 17.5 x 14.7 cm, 1.9 liters. The model has a 4-stage filter. The power cord (USB) is embedded in the case, the adapter is not included. The drinker is pumped using an additional unit with an ultraviolet lamp for sterilization and water heating... The working module is submerged in water, and the control module is attached to the bowl wall. Such a unit is fed separately from the drinker, you will need another outlet nearby.
The animal may not immediately get used to the drinker, but, as a rule, even cats at some point understand what it is and why, and begin to lap from the fountain. Just put the gadget in the place of your usual bowl of water, limit access to other sources of water - and you will succeed.

A house with pets is easy to distinguish from a house without pets: it is cozier and more fun, but there is also more wool with dust, and the smell is ... specific. Therefore, the Petoneer team has developed gadgets to help keep things neat and tidy.
Let's start with the versatile "magic wand" Petoneer UV Sanitizing Pen . This portable UV lamp disinfects any surface it shines on. Leash, collar, rugs, toys and bowls can be disinfected. Looks like a large marker with a slotted cap. While the cap is on the lamp, it shines in one direction, so as not to harm the eyes, yours and your pet. But for some operations, it must be removed, for example, to disinfect drinking water.
The resource of the UV lamp is 15,000 hours of operation. It is charged by microUSB, a full charge is enough for 2.5 hours of processing. You can turn it on for 90 seconds, or for 1 hour at once.
For the trays, Petoneer has a separate device: the Petoneer Odor Eliminator . The gadget is attached with a magnet, a metal plate and double-sided tape. It is easy to remove and reinstall in the same place. Placed on the wall above an open tray, or inside a closed tray.
The device releases ozone on a timer or triggered by the built-in motion sensor, killing bacteria, mold spores and other pathogens. It's better not to be next to him at this time - and this is thought out in the design. The eliminator "sees" the surrounding area with an infrared sensor and turns off if it detects movement.
Do you like the ozone venture? The smart air cleaner Petoneer AirMaster produces enough of it to clean an area of 10–12 square meters. Not a single bacterium will slip: however, you should not be near the device while it is operating in the ozonation mode. This is stated in the instructions, the application reminds of this every time - and for good reason. Tested on myself: the headache from the process arises very nasty.
For the safety of pets and their owners, motion sensors are also built into the AirMaster. As soon as the gadget detects someone's presence nearby, it will automatically stop supplying ozone.
It is easier to breathe in the room after the procedure. Feels like the air has become cleaner. To achieve this effect, AirMaster uses a 5-stage system:
- The HEPA filter removes dust, hair and pollen.
- The carbon filter captures and traps unpleasant odors.
- The photocatalytic filter breaks down organic matter into carbon dioxide and water.
- The ionizer ozonizes the air, killing bacteria on the spot.

Second toy: Petoneer Smart Dot . This is a cat-eye-shaped laser pointer that connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth. The pupil emits a red ray and moves it along the path specified in the smartphone.
Cats especially like this thing. In the application, you can set a schedule of 8 daily game cycles of 5 minutes. A choice of 3 game modes with different point heights ... The Madrobots team has been using Petoneer feeders and drinkers for a year now (our cats and dogs still eat and drink from them). Looks like we weren't the only ones who liked the animal gadgets! The first batch of Nutri Vision Feeder and Play Ball was dismantled in just a month. New "big-eyed" feeders and robotic balls will arrive only in 2021.
