In general, I will express my unnecessary opinion about what is happening with Yandex.Disk in recent days. And it seems to me that one might get the impression, especially after reading this article, that I am in the ranks of the so-called "haters" of the company, but this is not at all true. I even regularly pay three kopecks every month from my pocket for a PLUS subscription, although I don't actually use it. It is quite obvious that such titan companies as Yandex, Sberbank and Mail Ru Group are moving IT in our country by leaps and bounds and, what can we say, about the number of jobs they provide, often on very comfortable conditions, allowing people to participate in technological cool products. Hereinafter, Mail Ru will be referred to as MRG.

A short spoiler about the further content of the article

So, a short retelling of recent events for those who slept through everything: it seems that in June Yandex presented a new product, namely Telemost. This is an application for creating group teleconferences. The application runs on top of the Electron and built on the basis of the project Jitsi with open source .

As a nice bonus, for natural reasons, the application can work as a service from the browser, but due to a number of implementation restrictions, it does not work under my favorite Firefox. In winter, when the massive transition to remote work began, I had a chance to try working with Jitsi, and the result was not encouraging - strange UX solutions coexist with no less strange product development. That, in general, in the case of open source, the phenomenon is not rare and, perhaps, quite acceptable, but this situation clearly did not suit us. When a large corporation with huge resources takes such a decision as the basis of its product, then an awkward expectation of some kind of qualitative leap immediately appears, but in this case, as if this did not work out. At the time of the product launch, judging by the screenshots, the TV Bridge from Jitsi differed only slightly in appearance. But,To be fair, I don't even know how things are now - I don't really want to try, and I don't need it.
