Mixxx 2.3 - free package for creating music mixes

Mixxx is a powerful open source mixing software for DJ mixing, a free counterpart to products such as Rekordbox and Serato .

Yesterday 28.06.2021 , the developer's website announced the release of Mixxx version 2.3.0. The release was delayed for two years, 7477 edits were made, which affected more than 1 million lines of code!

The reason for this delay is that: the developers switched to an automated system for building the CMake source code , updated the infrastructure for internal optimization, and made a major refactoring of the code. At the same time, it took about a year to beta test the product.

It is worth noting that developers say there is an urgent need for C ++ programmers for Windows or macOS, since the main development team is focused on programming in the Linux environment. However, most of the consumers are Windows users.

A large number of people took part in the development of the application. They were engaged in debugging errors, translating the interface into different languages, designing skins, checking compatibility with DJ equipment (controllers), fixing errors in the code, and also in this release the user manual was greatly improved.

As a result, about a hundred people took part in the release of this version:
