IT Schnick with Unlimited Possibilities: How to Get a Great Job for a Disabled Person

Disabled employees are a complex and delicate topic for any business. Professionals with disabilities do not need to be afraid to hire and adapt in a team. They are often promising specialists. The pandemic, retirement and shortage of personnel have led to the fact that the business has become more active in considering candidates with disabilities. Over time, such people will not only gain the interest of employers, offices will also become barrier-free for them, I am sure the manager of IT projects Artem Melentiev. He has epidermolysis bullosa, or "butterfly disease", but he is quite successful in his career.

Startup and start

I am now 25 years old. So my path to IT actually started with entrepreneurship. I was finishing my bachelor's degree and worked in my mother's company, helping with current tasks. Together we came to the idea of creating software for booking jobs. This is relevant for companies with a hybrid schedule and unassigned employee jobs. The idea was packed into a startup concept and started to develop. We didn’t understand anything about business and went through trial and error. In parallel, I am employed.

After the bachelor's degree, I went to the master's degree in the direction of project management. There I got my first knowledge of how to work with a project, project my knowledge onto IT.

I am from the generation of people who have accompanied the computer all their lives. Like many boys, I went through online games, gradually delved into technical features, and figured out why certain games did not work. I understood that I was able to work with a computer.

In addition, IT is promising. Digitalization affects all spheres of life (retail, medicine, education), therefore, in parallel with my studies, I began to look for a job, studied job aggregators, made a resume, described my skills and experience.
