The US administration recently announced the resumption of the International Entrepreneur Parole program . A path for entrepreneurs to enter the states and stay to grow their own company.
Process
- Complete Form I-941 (and Form I-131 for family members: spouse or children, parents are not family)
- If the I-941 application is confirmed - visit the US consulate abroad to obtain exit documents for a parole determination (permission to enter and temporary stay of a foreigner in the United States)
- Arrive in the United States to obtain the final parole determination (permission to enter and temporary stay of a foreigner in the United States)
Criteria
- The entrepreneur must own at least 10% of the share of the business and play a central role in its work
- The startup must have been founded in the United States within the last 5 years
- A startup must demonstrate the potential for rapid growth and job creation
Potential is evidenced
- Capital investments of at least USD 250,000 from qualified American investors
- Awards or grants (at least $ 100,000) from federal, state or local governments
- Providing other “reliable and convincing evidence” (for example, confirmation of admission to a startup accelerator)
The initial stay is allowed for up to 2.5 years, with a subsequent extension for another 2.5 years in the event the startup continues to provide a “public benefit” (significant increase in capital investment, income, or job creation)
