In this essay, I would like to talk about my experience of interacting with ITMO University. This note describes only my personal experience, for others it can be radically different both in the positive and in the negative direction.
Instead of introducing
So that my words are not unfounded, I would like to clarify some details. I recently graduated from ITMO with a degree in software engineering. Now I am a Middle Developer and I combine this activity with teaching at the university as a junior lecturer.

Talking to my friends, I would like to note that ITMO is a really strong university, preparing well for life, although not without jambs, in the form of some outdated topics, technologies and strange objects. But in general, I would like to say that I do not consider these years to be wasted.
Can ITMO be called non-classical? I think not. This is a good university that tries to provide a classical higher education, keeping up with the times.
