Introduction
Hi, my name is Daniil, I am a second year student of the radio faculty at UrFU. As long as I remember my studies at the university, we have constantly promoted the concept of project training. I wanted to tell you how it goes exactly from the student's point of view.
Individual educational trajectories
All subjects are divided into two types - compulsory and optional
The compulsory subjects include general education disciplines - calculus, English, physics, etc. In them, you can choose the teacher with whom you will study and the level of complexity of the subject: basic or advanced.
Optional subjects are a pool of courses from which the student must select an additional subject for the next semester. It is important to note that you cannot choose more or less than the norm. If the program says that you need to select two additional. subject, then spin as you want, but choose two. And to make the choice conscious, they conduct streams where teachers talk about the content of their course and organizational aspects.
Even if in the first year you realized that coding is not yours, then you always have a chance to try yourself in something else without transferring to another institute. The ability to change directions is very important in project activities.
Okay, what is project learning?

Introduce some meetups where students tell students about what projects they have implemented, what problems they encountered and how they overcame them. This year there has already been progress in this direction - a project fair was held. True, it was not the students who spoke to the students, but the members of the jury among themselves, examining the projects of the students.
Instead of a conclusion
Honestly, I like it when I have the opportunity to choose objects and projects. I would not want to go back to the old education system, where everything is decided for you. The choice of subjects, coupled with projects, gives you the opportunity to try yourself in different roles and professions.
I think project-based learning is a movement in the right direction.
