How to protect your snom phone

Hello dear readers. Today we propose to talk about an important topic: the security of the devices used. This is the first article in a series, and we will start with simple and straightforward things that are required, but which are occasionally neglected.





What you should pay attention to first of all:





  1. Let's set the username and password for the web user interface;





  2. Disable administrator mode and change the administrator password;





  3. We will set access for the web interface only via HTTPS;





  4. Let's set a PIN-code and turn on the keypad lock to prevent physical access.





Step 1. Username and password for the web interface

Let's assume that we already have a Snom device connected to the network. Let's check the IP address of our phone in the "Settings" menu of the phone, submenu "Information" -> "System Information".





Launch a web browser on a PC on the same subnet as your phone and enter the IP address of the phone in the address bar.
