Phabricator development and support stopped

Phabricator is a completely open source and free web development toolkit (competing with tools like azure.devops, atlassian, GitLab) from Facebook and backed by former FB developer Evan Priestley over the years.

A week ago, Evan, left alone (judging by the history of commits over the past year ), announced the end of further support for the product.

Why is Phabricator good and what makes it stand out from other trackers?

  • The ability to deploy everything on your servers:

Issue tracker, Chats, Repositories, Documentation, Blogs, Password storage system ... [see. full list ]

  • A complex system of rights, which is useful in large teams, and even with public access

  • Support for sub-projects (each of which can have its own access settings)

  • Ability to link a task to any number of projects

  • It should be noted that among the organizations that use or have used a sufficiently convincing list

    • Wikimedia

    • Coursera

    • Quora

    • Dropbox

    • ...

Subjectively:

Nice interface. Recently, it is customary to cram all web interfaces with large buttons and huge indents everywhere - this is not the case in Phabricator, everything is human.

There are developers who still remember and note its stability, simplicity and convenience. It is a pity that such a promising tool was not in demand, but this is an opensource world and there is still hope that there will be enthusiasts who will put it on its feet.
