My evolution of dispatch systems interfaces

In this article I want to go back a few years ago, go through our development path once again in the development of interfaces for control and dispatch systems, and share my experience.





For more than 10 years I have been engaged in automation and dispatching of engineering systems, I have a small team of specialists, and it so happened that we pay great attention not only to how the systems work inside, but also how the personnel will interact with them.





That year I already wrote an article about the interfaces of dispatching systems, it turned out to be large, and everything is described in general terms, but here I want to talk more specifically about my developments and my experience. First of all, I will adhere to ventilation systems, since they are most often found at facilities and there are more developments in them. Also, there will be examples from different devices: 7-inch panels and widescreen monitors.





In this article, I will not focus on hardware and software manufacturers, since this is of secondary importance. The interface is developed in a graphical editor for the required resolution and screen size, and after that it is integrated into the required software. Although you can recognize the manufacturer from many screenshots, in this regard we are quite conservative and are used to working with what we already know inside and out.

2022

Next time, I think I'll create a new project and start painting over again. Most likely, I will rework the color palette, grid and icons a little. I will definitely come up with a universal transition from a dark theme to a light one.
