On June 8, 2009, Phil Schiller spoke at WWDC . For just 36 seconds, he talked awkwardly about VoiceOver, Zoom, White on Black (since iOS 6 called Invert Colors) and Mono Audio. These were the first real special features on the iPhone OS platform, as it was called at the time. However, they didn't make much of an impression - the 36 seconds ended, and then there was no demonstration or applause, and Schiller just went on to describe the Nike + app.
But in the vision-impaired community, things were different. Time seemed to stop somewhere after 1:51:54. Something completely amazing happened, and only a few people seemed to understand what it meant.
