Hello. My name is Igor Novitskiy, I have been working with the EPAM Anywhere platform as Lead Software Testing Engineer for half a year now. In this article, I will share my impressions of working in full remote mode, tell you about the real advantages and disadvantages of the platform. Everything described below is exclusively personal impressions and experience of the author.
Who am I and what did I do before
I've been in testing for over four years now. He started his career in an e-commerce project - an online store that specialized in the sale of computer components. We had a small but strong IT department, which consisted of two developers, a project manager, a business analyst and a test engineer - me. We have developed a monolithic e-commerce system in .NET. There I built quality control processes from scratch - from documentation to the implementation of regression testing, collection of metrics, etc.
After two years of such work, when theoretical knowledge was developed in the form of practical skills, I decided to go further for new experience. So I got into one of the largest IT service companies in Ukraine for the position of Middle / Junior Test Engineer, where I worked with the team in the Asset Management domain, developing software that collected data from various renewable energy stations. I worked there for almost two years, during which time I rose to the position of Test Lead, oversaw several projects that were created by distributed teams.
