Introduction
In the last article, I talked about how we implemented the Bypass routes module for enterprises based on the TARGControl system ( you can read it here ), today I will try to touch on a topic that is relevant for many companies in which the work of employees is divided into projects and tasks, and for which it is important control costs and progress in the context of specific objects, orders, etc.
As is often the case with us, we learned about this problem from our existing customers who have already used our TARGControl control and time tracking automation system. First, a construction company approached us with this request , then we received a similar request from a company involved in the production of electric vehicles , later from an organization engaged in the production and installation of industrial equipment.
After analyzing the market, we realized that if for office employees it is easy enough to find tools to organize accounting and control of time expenditures in the context of projects , then for other employees directly involved in the processes of production, construction, installation, this is a really urgent problem.
To understand the urgency of the problem, we can consider a very conditional example - a construction general contracting company is building a residential building. For this, there is project documentation , which determines, among other things, the amount of labor costs (one of the main cost items in construction) for each stage of construction and each type of work. That is, in order to build a house for a certain period of time and for a certain amount of money, you need to have tools for the correct organization of labor, analysis and control that will allow you to track the progress of the project , control the cost of man-hours for work and compare the actually spent (and, as a rule, paid) - hours with the volume of work performed... If there are no tools, then the inefficiency of the organization of work leads to low labor productivity, an increase in construction time and, as a result, an increase in cost. For the time being, companies can include their inefficiency in the cost of work (services), but this process is not eternal.
This is how our team came up with the task of developing the Projects module based on the TARGControl cloud-based automation system for control and time tracking (URV). At the same time, in many respects, we decided to build on the ready-made logic of the URV system incorporated into the operation.
Implementation
To implement this module, a slight rethinking of the system as a whole was planned. Before the implementation of projects, the concept of "Events" * already existed in our system .
