We are pleased to announce that Pylance, our fast and feature rich Python language support in Visual Studio Code, has officially gone out of preview and has reached its first stable release.
Earlier this week, we announced that starting with the May release of the Python extension, Pylance is now also the default Python language server in Visual Studio Code. Pylance is also now included in the Python Kernel Extension Pack as an additional dependency, which means we will automatically install it for you, but you have the option of using a different language server of your choice.
