Controls for safe and efficient growth
The right controls help you maintain automation as your system grows and scales, while simplifying your compliance efforts. The GitLab Kubernetes Agent is the backbone of GitLab's Kubernetes integration and is now available on GitLab.com . The agent-based integration supports pull-in deployments from GitLab, which is preferable from a security point of view. Because of this, such integration is rapidly becoming a popular method in deployments with Kubernetes. Our agent also supports the integration of network security rules and alerts, allowing you to fine-tune RBAC across your clusters.
Customization Dedicated requirements validation pipelines allow you to achieve greater segregation of duties and reduce business risk by creating mandatory pipelines for any project that is assigned a matching ruleset. At the same time, creating custom compliance rulesets will give you the ability to define your own requirements beyond the usual ones such as PCI, HIPPA, and others. Admin Mode increases the security and level of control on your GitLab instance by requiring administrators to verify credentials before executing admin commands. Auditing reports are also more convenient with the introduction of standalone GitLab instances export of user access data . Securing the software supply chain
Security professionals will be delighted to have a flexible Semgrep rule syntax to extend and modify vulnerability detection rules, which has been a frequent request from GitLab SAST users. We've also added support for custom certificates and key expiration email notifications . In addition, you can improve security by enforcing SAML for your Git activity .
