Good interview rules

Hello everyone!

I am improving the process of hiring Java specialists. To improve the interview process, I compiled a set of rules and recommendations for conducting interviews. I want to share my developments with the community. Perhaps someone will come in handy =) And so, let's go!

What goals I was trying to achieve:

  1. Make the interview less stressful for both the candidate and the interviewer.

  2. Help candidates understand their strengths and weaknesses and how to develop further in IT.

  3. Show that the company values people and the time candidates spent interviewing

Why do you need an interviewer certification program?

The program did not appear by chance. After all, it was necessary to solve the following tasks:

  1. Improve the quality of interviews conducted. Although the percentage of bad reviews about the company is very small, this does not mean that the hiring process itself is perfect.

  2. Standardize the interview process. This will reduce the time spent on one candidate and will be able to guarantee a certain minimum level of quality.

  3. Provide quality feedback to candidates. And since it also contains a list of training materials, we have the opportunity to help the candidate close knowledge gaps and move up the career ladder.

  4. Marketing. Yes, oddly enough, this is it. Since the first thing that job seekers face is the recruitment department and interviewers. Therefore, for a company, interviews are part of a marketing strategy that allows them to talk about the benefits of the company and actually demonstrate the effectiveness of processes.
