Service for UX Testing Mobile Apps in 45 Hours: Results of an Online Hackathon with Oprosso

Hello, Habr! Imagine that you are a Usability specialist developing UX for a mobile application with 10,000+ active users per day per hour. You need to constantly test it on a large number of respondents. It is desirable without embedding scripts in the source code of the application (which security service will give it to you?).

What is it all about? The fact that Oprosso together with our team Phystech.Genesis from April 16 to 18 spent online Hackathon Hack.Genesis_online_ , dedicated to finding approaches to solving the problem UX-testing of mobile applications.

If you didn’t know, then Oprosso creates products that help manage customer experience and conduct complex research online in order to better understand the behavior of people in digital channels, to study their relationship to brands, products, services. Therefore, the task is especially urgent for them.

We received 305 applications for the hackathon from 13 cities and 4 countries ! After long discussions and calculation of points, 12 best teams (52 people) were selected to solve the problem. Specialists from various fields came to us: mobile developers, analysts, designers, project managers. And it was interesting for everyone to pass this challenge!

What was the task?

Oprosso and I challenged teams to create a web service for remote unmoderated UX testing of mobile apps. You could choose one of the platforms: iOS and / or Android.

Where is the TK?

At the hackathon, we do not give TK, the maximum is User Flow. In our case, it looks like this:

In future plans, we have to see what conditions they are ready to offer us in Oprosso and, if the contract is rather soft, to continue working. The project is nevertheless associated with a huge amount of R&D, so it's too early to give serious promises. In any case, we would like to develop the idea further. There is a feeling that it can help find vulnerabilities in Android, and this is a socially useful thing :) ".

In general, everyone was satisfied. We believe that the guys will succeed, and their cool ideas will be implemented in Oprosso.

Generate unexpected approaches to solving IT problems and participate in our next hackathons!
