On the progress of the creation of the game "Kolobok" in April



In April, we moved from GDevelop to Phaser, which we had to resort to after the survey in the previous March article, where we identified the priorities for implementing the features that should be added to the game:







  • 38.5%: an additional way to get out both from the house and from the yard;
  • 26.9%: enemies in the form of a granny (at home) and a goat-dereza (in the yard), which in some way interfere with the control of the kolobok;
  • 26.9%: dialogues between a kolobok and living beings - a cat and a cow;
  • 7.7%: collecting stars in hard-to-reach places, followed by some kind of reward for those who collected everything.


Despite the fact that the additional route turned out to be the most demanded, enemies and dialogues gained a noticeable number of votes. Therefore, I decided to immediately make both the route and the enemies.







The first thing I did was to start implementing the route to the subfloor:









Then I decided to introduce enemies in the form of spiders, which I peeped in Dizzy (thanks prilichnyfor the recommendation). A collision with spiders should disable the platforms only for the kolobok, so that he cannot climb up. But the platforms must continue to work for other characters, such as the cat, so that he doesn't just fall off the stove. Unfortunately, it turned out to be impossible to disable platforms for some of the characters in Gdevelop.
