Budget country internet

In anticipation of the summer season, I was solving the problem with a stable Internet connection within a limited budget.

Given

  • Lack of mobile operator base stations in line of sight.

  • Unstable mobile Internet at speeds up to 2Mbps.

  • Distance to the tower ~ 2 km.

  • A panel house inside which a Wi-Fi router will be located.

Expect to receive

  • The speed is not lower than 15Mbps - this will be enough for parallel playback of a video stream in 720p quality on 3 devices.

  • Coverage of 6 acres with a stable Wi-Fi signal.

  • Minimum financial and time costs.

Time-consuming: all that had to be done was to connect the devices together, attach them to the wall in the right place and plug them into a power outlet.

Addition

Antenna internal structure:

An important point: using a 4G modem inside the antenna can lead to failure of the modem when operating the solution at subzero temperatures.
