Recently, there are many reasons to talk about the use of a polygraph. Over the weekend I took part in the conference "Lie Detection and Profiling" in Yekaterinburg - I took away several insights from there after talking with colleagues.
Today there was a big article in "The Secret of the Firm" about the use of a polygraph in business. And there are also entertaining conclusions - already from the side of those who use the tools as a client or as a test subject. The main one is: think about what kind of business and corporate culture in a company that uses such a format of checks?
Partly I agree, partly no. The polygraph is a good tool, but there are usually not enough “good” interpreters, and the scope of application is too wide. Over time, it only gets wider.
Despite the fact that a lot is said about the polygraph, there are enough myths around it. For example, that he gives an answer - the person is lying or not. Hence his middle name is "lie detector".
A polygraph is a device that measures psychophysiological parameters in connection with a person's answer to a particular question. These are respiration rate, heart rate, pressure, galvanic skin response and, in some cases, others. The polygraph examiner asks questions within the framework of a certain methodology and sees how stressful the person's reaction to him turned out to be.
