Emmy Noether. This woman was considered by Einstein to be one of the greatest creative geniuses of mathematics.

It is always pleasant to read about the fair sex, especially when it comes to unsurpassed geniuses and true masters in their fields. The name Emmy Noether is forever included in the golden hall of fame of mathematics, because even Albert Einstein ranked her among the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century. How did this woman deserve such recognition?

The simplest invariant is the length of a line segment.  If you start rotating it in any direction, transferring it in parallel, reflecting, etc., then the length will not change from this.  Hence, length is an invariant.  Of course, Emmy studied much more complex things.
