We, the students of the capital university, really wanted to attract the attention of our department leadership. The problem had to be solved radically and irrevocably. Intra-university projects would not have given the desired effect, so at a community meeting, it was decided to organize an action and paint the very center of Moscow - Chistye Prudy.
Since running with brushes in the cold didn't sound very tempting, we decided to entrust this task to a robot. As they say, prepare the sleigh in the summer ... Of course, no one prepared them, but no one was going to assemble the robot platform from scratch. They offered to re-equip one of the existing projects for this business.
Big Fucking Printer
A warehouse robot with mecanum wheels is our chosen one. The first problem was in these very wheels, they were completely unsuitable for driving on snow, and the ground clearance was small. In general, there are much more requirements for a painter robot than for a cargo platform. For a month and a half, the team faced a huge number of tasks.
Develop a field marking system
Come up with a marker for applying paint to a huge area
Redo all the electronics of the robot, don't ride a Beeedouin, right? Nobody does that, right?
