Toxic Efficiency

Underneath my last FB article on burnout , this comment appeared: 





And I remembered that for a long time I wanted to speculate on the unhealthy cult of "Toxic Effectiveness", which often causes burnout. Not the only one, but the connection is impossible not to notice. 





Since the term "toxic" will be used more than once in the article, I consider it necessary to decipher it at the beginning in order to play in a single semantic field with the reader:





Toxic - poisonous, poisonous. In a figurative sense, it can be interpreted in the same way: 





  • a toxic person is a person who poisons the people interacting with him, makes them feel bad; 





  • a toxic corporate culture is a culture in which people suffer, mentally and emotionally. Sometimes I use an alternative term: “corporate culture of the smoker”.





Toxic effectiveness is an unhealthy, perverse understanding of effectiveness. Formalized, bureaucratic and inhuman. 





Those who are triggered by the word "toxic" can immediately walk by, figure out their triggers on their own, and return to reading the article. Or not to return.
