We connect an M2 SSD to a motherboard that does not have an M2 connector and make this SSD a system one. Dancing with a tambourine

Background

A long time ago, when solid-state only began to appear in the world of hard disks, I, like all progressive humanity, took care of increasing productivity through this very solidity of media. An inexpensive Vertex SSD with a volume of 120 GB was purchased and successfully installed in the guts of the computer. I don’t remember how the system was poured into it (and which one), with or without difficulties, but the speed increase was felt specifically. A sticker with the words “My SSD is faster then your HDD” was attached to the disk, which warmed the owner of this device.

In this case, I recommend loading the BIOS first, specify the ESP bootloader that appears first, then our M2 disk (they are displayed separately there) and then let the system boot. And I also disconnected the old SSD for the purity of the experiment.

After downloading, the standard installation of Windows 10 should begin. In any case, it was so. The system got up without a hitch! Now I have a 250Gb C drive on a fairly smart SSD. Hopefully enough for the next 4 years. And also I hope that the above will help someone not to step on my rake. Good luck to all!
