How to make the right decisions? Why is the decision that was correct yesterday turned out to be extremely wrong today? Why do we, like blind kittens, poke in the dark and do not see what is in front of us? The purpose of this article is to try to partially answer these questions.
Before making a decision - look into the future
In the decision-making process, in my opinion, two components are involved - Reason and Intuition .
Mind
The mind operates with our accumulated experience, the experience that has developed during our life. An experience that has been gained in an infinite number of mistakes and failures, ups and downs. When our Reason is faced with the task of making a decision, it begins to refer to our experience and select templates. The mind tries to fit the current situation into the pattern of the situation that it already knows well, for which it has an answer. The uniqueness of the situation is depersonalized, it becomes stereotyped. We make a decision, discarding the essential points that we do not see, are not aware of. The quality of decision making suffers greatly from this.
Also, the Reason cannot operate with future experience, i.e. experience that he has not yet had. The mind cannot look beyond the horizon of forthcoming events. Remember from your practice. Here is a decision to be made. Here are all the background data, here are all the facts. Based on these facts, we make a logical conclusion, a decision. And this decision is really correct at the current moment in time - here and now. However, after a short period of time, we are convinced that this decision was wrong, and it was necessary to do exactly the opposite. Why is this happening? And because we did not take into account those facts and those events that were just preparing to happen and happen.
- Oh, if only we knew that this would happen!
- Who could have known that it would be so !?
- Black Swan!
