Ahead of its time: how Americans built a prototype vertical landing rocket 28 years ago

On August 18, 1993, the first flight of the DC-X rocket took place, which lasted only 59 seconds. During this time, the ship rose to a height of 46 meters, hovered for some time in the air, moved horizontally by 110 meters and made a soft landing. According to the creators, for the first time in the world, a rocket prototype landed vertically.
