From this day (and forever) the VKontakte iOS application will become universal - all updates will be available simultaneously on the iPhone and iPad.

Background
Over the past few years, we have had two applications in the App Store: VKontakte (for iPhone) and VKontakte for iPad.
In 2015, we designed each major feature separately for iOS (for iPhone), Android, web, m.vk.com and iPad. We made an independent and very different version for tablets, although the audience for the iPad was (and still is) significantly smaller than on other platforms.
