Hey! I haven't written here for a hundred years, but now there is a reason.
Once, I talked about Firechat in Russia. Today, the same team is working on a new solution - a distributed data transmission network. This post is an invitation to dialogue.
It's not for me to tell you about modern threats: attacks, censorship, attempts to slow down traffic, natural disasters. All this hinders the main thing: efficient data transfer. And we solved this problem. NewNode is a hybrid overlay network using existing infrastructures and traditional peer-to-peer distribution.
The NewNode network consists of three types of nodes: injectors, peers and peers, which become proxy injectors. Injectors are a trusted service running in the cloud, while each content user is a peer by default. The node that establishes the connection to the injector becomes the injector proxy. Each injector has a private injector key, while each peer has a hard-coded copy of all injector public keys.
This is how the authors portrayed the work of the network, practically on a napkin, in our best traditions:

This is just the beginning. Colleagues are working on improvements and new products, we face many challenges, not only of a technological nature - the presence of such a solution will spoil the plans of those who want to take control of the Internet.
