Many advanced PC / laptop users sooner or later face the problem of a low level of sound quality reproduced by their sound card (if they set some kind of default), and therefore begin to think about pumping this hardware. The well-known, if not the most well-known among all sound card manufacturers is Creative Labs and their SoundBlaster series (besides Asus and others). The most popular products in this line are the G5 and G6 sound cards, the latter being so loved by gamers that it even became a folk legend.
So, a week ago, I nevertheless laid my hands on this legend, as I was very much pissed off with promises about "extremely cool" sound quality from some YouTube reviewers, and in addition I just wanted to update the sound, since good sound quality for me is very important parameter. But this product disappointed me very much and I will explain why. I will try to be brief and as objective as possible in this review and tell you fully what, in my opinion, is still wrong with this 150 bucks sound card.
Material
The first thing that immediately catches your eye, or rather into your hands, is cheap plastic that looks like metal. Feels very cheap and won't survive a 1.5m drop.
I did not remove the lid, I did not look at the hard disk, since I would definitely not be able to return the money.
All buttons that are on the card case can also be turned on via software
(volume too).
