For a number of reasons, I have been looking at SEO plugins on my own site lately. I turn on one or the other - from flagships to little-known ones. I see how it works. And that's what I saw.
1. Key queries
The main thing that caught my eye was the work of plugins with classic SEO keywords. It is rumored that neither Yandex nor Google needs them in the last few years. That search engines have successfully learned to recognize synonyms and generally perfectly capture the general meaning of the text.
Accordingly, direct occurrences of SEO keys are no longer relevant - they do not help much, and sometimes, on the contrary, harm. Because they lead to suspicion, even if they are written neatly and do not look alien.
An indirect confirmation of this theory is the fact that in the latest standard WordPress themes, the keywords line is basically absent in the header block. This is not hard to see in the source code. Moreover, the plugins that I am writing about now do not add such a line anywhere. However, they continue to demand the keys to their vebm and sterskih internal interfaces.
If you do not fill in the appropriate columns or fill them in with inaccurate words and phrases, then they begin to swear and give advice such as "this material of yours needs to be improved", "you are in the red zone, not in the green", "the page is only 58% normal" , "not found in the text", "not the same density" ...
It seems that the developers have decided to simply not remove the rudimentary chunks from their products. Instead of pretending that these chunks continue to provide the same contribution to the overall site optimization.
