Three problems of quick hypothesis testing

My name is Ivan Kesel, I am the owner of a product for real estate transactions at DomKlik, and previously I was the owner of the product of the mobile application "Thank you from Sberbank". I have been working at Sbergile for three years. The revenue from the sale of the services of our team is measured in hundreds of millions of rubles, and the number of real estate transactions - in tens of thousands per year.

I will talk about how to launch a product with limited resources and time. But I 'll warn you right away: if the necessary resources are not available, then you will not launch the product either. There is no magic pill. Stop believing in fairy tales. But if you want practical advice, read on. We will look at three main problems that can arise with quick hypothesis testing. I will tell you about examples of specific product launches by our team.

DomClick is not only deals with mortgage loans, but also the sale of real estate without a loan, when the buyer and the seller have already found each other and they need help in exchanging the property for money.

At the time of launching the product and testing the hypothesis, which I will talk about, we already had several separate services:

  • secure payment service;

  • service of electronic registration of property rights;

  • service for checking the legal cleanliness of apartments.

Each of them had their own customer journey, their own cost, their own selling landing pages. Our hypothesis was as follows. If the buyer and the seller have found each other somewhere and have agreed on everything, then they no longer need the services of third-party specialists. All they had to do was make the deal. And we believed that there will be customers who do not want to understand each of our individual products, and they will like the idea of buying a single package of services that does not require any research. It is this product and hypothesis that we tested.

Launching a product and testing any hypothesis starts with MVP, the minimum product.
