The shell of supercivilization. On the energy, engineering and environmental aspects of the Dyson sphere

In the history of ideas that appeared in the 20th century, a special place is occupied by the triad of the Fermi paradox , the Kardashev scale and the Dyson sphere . Without going into their details, set out in the links provided, I would like to note that I unite them according to the general assumption of the existence of highly developed intelligent civilizations in the Universe. Despite the fact that not the slightest sign of extraterrestrial intelligence has been found at the moment, these ideas betray what kind of behavior we expect from representatives of supercivilizations, which we hope to someday enter. It:

  1. The readiness and even the desire to communicate with other intelligent beings (therefore Fermi considered the fact of the silence of the Universe paradoxical, given that during its existence on the inhabited planets, many civilizations should have formed no more primitive than ours),

3. The degree of complexity and intelligence of individual modules of the Dyson sphere. Perhaps a swarm of von Neumann probes could easily assemble a Dyson sphere from particles of the same swarm - provided that the robots themselves would consist of a suitable material, for example, carbon nanofoam, and also have a verified life cycle - after working out the prescribed period, they would be disassembled by others robots for material that is used to build or repair a sphere.
