There is such a domestic company - "New Cloud Technologies". The main field of activity is the development of the platform for office programs "MyOffice", attempts to compete with counterparts in B2G and get into import substitution.
I was hunted there in the summer of 2019 as a lead developer, to refine the backend in one of the projects. The project was once written from scratch, but then abandoned for some reason. It was necessary to revive it, fix bugs, write new functionality and tinker with Legacy, which I was honestly warned about in the first and only interview. And for a whole year everything was more or less calm: the usual work of a programmer with bugs, features, sync-desync between backend and frontend, PM, team lead, sprints-meetings and that's all.
And then the management decided to close this project.
It looked like this: one fine summer morning, I came to planning, and the product manager informed me that the result of my year's work was sent to the table. The code of your own product is frozen, and instead an open source analogue with a suitable license will be used, which will be taken as a basis and doped. Backend development moves to Moscow; my position is being closed.
Then I heard that they really didn’t want to part with me, so they offered to consider options for transferring to another project. In St. Petersburg, however, there are no vacancies for me, but they ask me to be understanding.
