Year of life in Denmark (part 1)

A little over a year ago, I received a job offer from the Danish company Grundfos for the position of Big Data Engineer, and emigrated with my wife to the small town of Viborg in western Denmark. In this article, I will tell you about the process of finding a job, interviewing, integrating expats into society, and the country as a whole. I hope my experience is useful to someone.

How did I get to Denmark at all?

For a start - a little about yourself. I am 29 years old, I graduated from NSTU with a degree in software for computer technology and automated systems. After graduation, he worked as a tester in the Novosibirsk office of 2GIS for a little over a year. Then I worked in testing mobile applications for six months, and then moved to the Upwork freelance exchange. I worked on it for about a year as a C # programmer / data engineer, interrupting with all sorts of small projects, and after that I found a long-term contract from the Swiss digital-marketing company Cleoo there. I worked for them for two more years, and then I started looking for where the grass is greener, and eventually ended up in Denmark.

All the documents for obtaining a work visa were submitted by my employer - I just had to go to the visa center and submit biometrics there, a color copy of my passport, and also provide a certified translation of the marriage certificate.

I think that's enough for the first part. In the next post, I will share my first impressions of the country, workflow and cost of living.

PS And I also have a telegram channel https://t.me/nepetaTravels in which I talk in more detail about Denmark.
