Limited but not broken. Or how games can change lives

Hello everybody. This is my first attempt to write something, so do not judge strictly ... I would like to tell a story about how people with disabilities were able to overcome these very limitations, and they managed not only to master the computer and play games freely, but and it turned out to start streaming. The story will come from my perspective, but I will also tell you about a person without whom this blog would not exist at all. So, let's start.

I'll tell you very briefly about myself. My name is Andrey, 27 years old, I live in the Primorsky Territory, the city of Artyom. I doubt you have heard of him. I was born with cerebral palsy. Yes, this is what our Russian people like to offend each other on the Internet, perhaps without even realizing what this word means.

Cerebral Palsy hits everyone differently. Someoneā€™s hands donā€™t work, someoneā€™s legs, but my legs donā€™t work, and about 80% hands. For example, now I write with one finger and it is terribly slow. Well, at least the brain seems to be working fine. All I can do is sit in a wheelchair and look around. But I'm not particularly worried about this, since my family and only friend did everything possible, and even more, so that I could forget about my illness. But let's not talk about sad things, but let's move on to games.

My first game console was a dandy. At first, I just watched my parents play. I remember they had epic mixes in the Battle city, or as we call them "Tanchiki".

My mother and I also had a tradition to play this or that game every night before going to bed. More precisely, my mother played, and I sat next to her and, wrapped in a blanket, cheered for her. And, damn it, how it was lamp.

Over time, I also wanted to try to play, but as you already know, only one hand works for me, and even then not completely. Therefore, my parents had to help me. For example, when we played Counter or Chip and Dale, my mother played the crossbar, and I played the buttons. True, in this way, it was not possible to go far. But later I did find a couple of games that can be more or less played with one hand. I especially liked New ghostbusters II,

A couple of years ago, with the help of an emulator, I was finally able to pass it.

Finally, I want to say that in the end I even liked writing, but I doubt that I will write again. It was also nice to remember some moments from the past and share them with you. I hope I was able to show you that in any condition and in any position you can find a way out and do what you like.

In conclusion, I want to thank everyone who reads this blog, I hope you enjoy it.

And that's probably all, good luck to everyone and for now.
