I present to you an overview of the old Soviet pre-war radio receiver ECHS-3. The ECHS-3 network tube radio receiver was produced from the fall of 1933 to 1935 by the Moscow Electromechanical Plant named after I. Sergo Ordzhonikidze.

A little later, KSO capacitors appeared, which already had a hermetic design and orders of magnitude higher reliability.
At that time, electrolytic capacitors were not yet invented at all, and a whole battery of paper was used to filter the supply voltage. The huge square block next to the transformer are the power filter capacitors. Despite its large size, the filtration capacity is insufficient. AC hum is heard loud enough in the receiver's loudspeaker.
Overall, for a receiver that is almost 90 years old, it still works very well. I think if you turn it on after another 10 years, it will work no worse.
