Starting from version 4.4 of the operating system of the S7-1200 series controllers, it became possible to poll them using the OPC UA protocol. Currently, only the server side is supported (the PLC can respond to client requests), the client side is not supported.
In setting up an OPC UA server on an S7-1200, there are differences from the S7-1500 (looking ahead, I will say that the server interface must be created manually, without this the PLC will not give any user data, although it will allow incoming connections).
First of all, go to properties and enable the OPC UA server.
Do not forget to also indicate in the settings that the license for OPC UA was purchased.
