CNews reports that Rostelecom plans to transfer its servers to the Russian GNU / Linux distribution Red OS. The transfer is planned to be completed by the end of 2023. Also in the future, the corporation is going to transfer to domestic OS and workplaces of employees. "Red OS" is certified by FSTEC of Russia, which confirms compliance with information security requirements and allows the system to be used in state information systems. Red OS, as CNews reports, will be the main server system of Rostelecom. According to the developers, the distribution is based on its own developments and free software taken from the repositories. Red OS uses the RPM package format, just like Red Hat distributions.
