This review is based on the practice of applying ISO 15926 and CFIHOS to oil and gas and petrochemical facilities. Recommended for objects of similar size and type of design solutions from other industries.
Introduction
CFIHOS - Capital Facilities HandOver Specification. Literally translated as an instruction or standard for the transfer of data from capital construction projects. It is an industry standard designed to improve the way information is transferred between companies that own, operate, erect plants for the process (continuous production) and energy industries. Is a practical application of ISO15926-4.
The development of the standard began with the classification of the equipment name and supporting specifications. As a result, the goal was to create a common language for the exchange of information in the above sectors.
The current version of the standard is 1.4. The developer is the USPI organization established by Shell in 2012. The USPI includes over 70 international engineering and software companies.
CFIHOS is based on the so-called reference data library - RDL, which defines the rules for naming equipment, its attributes, disciplines and documents as a standard. Version 1.4 includes:
List of classes for tags and equipment (what the equipment is and what it does)
List of properties (attributes, characteristics, dimensions)
List of requirements by class (requirements for data and documents)
Unique data codification standard to facilitate digital design and other work
List of document types
List of disciplines
Currently, CFIHOS only covers the exchange of structured information and documents.
