You've probably heard that plastic is evil, that many of the world's troubles are associated with it, and that if you continue to use plastic straws, you will harm the ocean much more than man-made disasters. Environmental activists like to show the accumulation of plastic in open waters, heaps of garbage and other not very pleasant things.

At the same time, it is already too difficult to imagine the life of a modern person without plastic. In one of our posts, we left a link to our cartoon about plastic, it has not lost its relevance.

Plastics are used everywhere - agriculture, aircraft construction, light and heavy industries, medicine. Speaking of the latter. Imagine a pandemic without plastic. Would the world be ready to give up masks and gloves (yes, disposable), medical gowns, syringes, blood transfusion bags and other items, without which medical care is hard to imagine? There might be enthusiasts offering you some great eco-friendly face masks and craft cardboard respirators, but I suspect that wouldn't help much.
