The strange idea of owning my own machine for cutting sheet material came to my mind quite a long time ago - when I found myself at a production facility in Vladimir. At that time, and even now, I spend most of my time in the office, and for me specifically, this is objectively more efficient from a financial point of view. At the same time, once I saw the magic that turns material into useful things, I could not get rid of such a thought.
Studying the designs of milling machines, I realized that they are quite diverse in terms of the number of axes, movement of material and a router along them, and other subtleties. Somewhere, in one machine, several synchronized milling cutters work, somewhere a complex system of levers is used, which allows you to calculate the position using a complex formula. I consider this to be the apotheosis of design genius:
