Personal opinion:
The Messenger satellite constellation continues its deployment. There are 15 in orbit. For a complete grouping of 24 vehicles, three more launches are required.
The Defense Department began experimenting with micro and nano satellites. The current trend is to deploy multi-satellite constellations of many tiny devices working together on a network.
