New face for "Honest Znak": works of Znak Cup winners

As you know, this year all our championships have gathered on one platform - All Cups ( 1 , 2 ). And from September 22 to October 16 it hosted the " Honest Sign " mobile application design championship . It is created as part of the national product labeling and traceability system. With its help, you can check the legality of goods by marking codes. Now the application is used by more than 300 thousand people, and the authors want to improve the interface and UX of the application with the help of the championship.

The prize fund was 1 million rubles (for the first three prizes). Participants who took 4th and 5th places received special prizes from Skolkovo: the opportunity to study at the Skolkovo Startup School and take part in the Techstars Startup Weekend, respectively.

And today we want to tell you about the best solutions offered by the championship participants.

The championship was held in two stages: the participants uploaded their works to the All Cups platform, and then defended them in front of the jury in a Zoom conference. The jury included representatives from Almaz Capital, CRPT, Skolkovo startup school, Ozon, Mail.ru Group and other companies.

32 works reached the final, 20 of which were chosen by the jury for the final defense.

Third place

Yulia Moiseeva from Moscow proposed the idea of expanding the application with a wide range of services that would help increase the audience at the expense of users with different needs. For example, you can add a home medicine cabinet monitoring service that collects information on scanned drugs with expiration dates and sends notifications when expiration dates are nearing the end. Or a service for monitoring warranty periods, which forms a register of goods with information about the date of the warranty expiration.

When solving the problem, I first of all started from the product approach: first, we identify the problem / limitations, formulate a hypothesis, determine the criteria for the success of the solution, and only then proceed to implementation. I identified a problem with user retention and suggested implementing services in the application (for example, monitoring expiration dates in the medicine cabinet), for the sake of which users would regularly return to the product. Keeping users in the application is one of the most important tasks, because if users do not return to the service, then it will have good audience indicators only while there is an active attraction of users.

For the third place, Julia received a prize of 150 thousand rubles.

Second place

Alina Pastukhova from Moscow, in her decision, tried to make the interface more friendly and simple. Alina paid special attention to making users want to return to the application: she thought over many screens, operations and sections in terms of ease of use, studied the shortcomings and opinions about the current application. Added many useful and pleasant features, including reviews, product quality assessment and gamification.

I find the problem presented at the championship very interesting. The application has great potential and is able to bring people a new experience in the field of public control and consumption.

In my project, I thought about what audience can still be attracted to using the application, and how the functionality needs to be improved for this.

I think my solution will help to make the use of "Honest Mark" interesting and convenient for different categories of users. And the process of making purchases and checking the goods is more transparent and honest - now you can see a detailed description in the product card, leave a review about it and compare prices in nearby stores.

For the second place, Alina received 200 thousand rubles.

First place

Arina Mesnyankina from Moscow became the winner of the championship. Arina focused on increasing the base of products in the application, building a community and stimulating user activity.

To arrive at this solution, I did a little research. I started by learning about metrics. Of course, in the conditions of limited time, it was not possible to dig deep enough, but through the analysis of user reviews, it was possible to get insights. The fact that the solution is based on data allows me to believe that my ideas will help solve the problems of the application.

The championship is a great opportunity to customize yourself and immerse yourself in a new product, improve not only UI skills, but also product thinking. Such contests can be of interest to both experienced designers and beginners: for them it is a cool chance to immerse themselves in the profession and motivation to become better.

The jury also noted the work of Nikita Gusev from Krasnogorsk and Pavel Molchanov from Cheboksary.

Nikita proposed a very well thought-out modern interface in which he laid down two scenarios for buying goods - new and used, a scenario for linking a product to an account in Honest Sign, as well as scenarios for searching for goods and reviews.

Rich presentation from Nikita:

The decision of Peter Mochalova laid the whole ecosystem of tools: blog, subscription information about the stores, catalog, feedback (about the goods, stores and manufacturers), as well as elements of gamification (scores and awards).

Thanks to all the participants for many talented and interesting solutions, and we hope that many of them will be implemented in the next versions of the Honest Mark application.
