My family and I spent summer self-isolation with my mother-in-law in the village. My wife has a vacation, and we, design engineers, almost all were transferred to a remote location. It is much more pleasant to work in a "house in the village" than in a city in a panel Khrushchev. So I got not only a separate room, but also an additional hour and a half of free time, which in peacetime went to the road to the office and back. All this made it possible to complete the electronic-wooden-button project, which was conceived 6 years ago.
Then, in the Olympic 2014, my daughter was a year or two and one of her favorite entertainments was to click on everything that was pressed, twist everything that was spinning, open, everything that was opened.
We, adults, do not remember those emotions, but it’s probably cool when we find two manipulators with whom we can explore this mysterious world around us and - wow! - even change it. Since it was with the hands of the hands that the human brain won world domination, such activities can only be encouraged - children need to develop fine motor skills.

We have lived to a boring time: now there are devices for all occasions. And for children as well. Toys - nowhere to put. So for the development of fine motor skills, they came up with "business boards" (but they did not come up with a Russian name, as usual).
My first thought was to make my own business board: with many buttons, switches and toggle switches. After all, mechanical buttons are something that modern fingers are so lacking. Poor fellows, now their unenviable destiny is to press and iron the hard glass of a smartphone.
