What is the job of an IT analyst to improve business processes

β€œAnalyst, analyze this problem for me,” says the business customer. What does he mean? Analysis is just a research method, characterized by the isolation and study of individual parts of research objects (according to Wikipedia), but business in its words implies something more than just analysis.

What does an IT analyst do and what is the business value of his work? Trying to figure it out.

The IT Analyst in this article is a role that a dedicated employee can play, or it can be a developer or any other employee.

Need and demand concepts

In analysis and design, the analyst works with two areas. Needs area = needs and solution area.

You can close one need in different ways. Each method has different quality attributes. Eating in a restaurant is faster and tastier, but buying groceries in the store, cooking and eating at home is cheaper.

Business turns to us with some problem, pain, which he does not know how to solve, and our task is to show him what to do.

The analyst's task is to find and choose the most suitable way for the customer to solve his pain and problem.

To do this, the design analyst identifies the needs, goals of change, designs and coordinates the requirements, cutting off part of the requirements for subsequent automation and creating solution models that meet these requirements.
