Mini-tutorial: disabling third-party cookies

I was saddened for a long time by the situation with advertising on the Internet. As soon as you go to a website that sells any goods, you immediately begin to see relevant ads in social networks, in the mail, even in the damn music player on your phone (yes, Xiaomi has sunk to that). And it doesn't matter for what purpose you went to the site - maybe you just decided to clarify the characteristics of the device, or to clarify the model of the device that you told a friend about. It doesn't matter at all, the result is one: for several weeks you will be shown the ill-fated washing machines, monitors and so on. Common situation? I am sure yes!

There is a fairly straightforward (and rather ancient, thanks to the remark polar_yogi) a way to fix things. I will hide a short description of how such surveillance works under the spoiler. Disabling instructions are already in the next paragraph.

About third party cookies

To disable such tracking (strictly speaking, disable third-party cookies), you need to put just one checkmark in Chrome. Here is a link to your browser settings : chrome: // settings / cookies? Search = Privacy + and + security. You will have to copy and paste it, the site will not recognize it as a link. Or just go to Settings -> Privacy and security (or search for these words in the settings search). You need to enable the option Block third-party cookies:

And voila, in the screenshot below, the cookie situation before and after. There used to be a whole bunch of "leftist" sites (yandex, mail, etc. have not yet hit it), but now only the store site itself. You can practice testing this approach.

Now you can safely search the web for any goods without fear of meaningless and merciless advertising. No matter how hard advertisers try, "things are still there":

I've been testing for several days - the flight is normal, the functionality of the sites I need is not broken!

UPD: there is more information about the user experience in the comments, I recommend that you look there too.
