Be smart about the choice of devices and software on them
Based on " Your computer no longer belongs to you ."
Warning: the article is written more for technically not-so-savvy people, they read Habr too. Specialists already know everything. Techies do not have other professions and hobbies, for them the most valuable resource (time) is better spent on interesting things than to understand the intricacies of assembling software from source. Many of my friends and acquaintances have apples not because they have a low IQ, as IT geeks often imagine, but because they do the tasks they need well and free up more time for their personal life. However, in my opinion, they do not think enough about the fact that their personal data and this very personal life are monitored by corporations and know their every step, excuses "who needs me" and misunderstanding of the problem of lack of privacy is a common thing. For corporations, people are most often a resource on which to make money, and knowing everything about a person, you can earn as much as possible by imposing preferences, goods and services on him. I would even say that the average consumer for the most part consists of priorities and products imposed on him, because the very culture of consumption has nurtured in him the desire to own the best (according to marketers) and promotes an uncritical view of the market, but this is a completely different story.
If you are not a technical specialist, and especially if you use apple products, answer the question for yourself personally - would you put cameras in your toilet and shower for public broadcasting? And what's wrong with that, all the organs you have like everyone else, there is nothing special in them, as well as in your personal data on devices, right? However, all your data - contacts and correspondence, photos and videos (including intimate ones), recordings of conversations and geolocation, search queries and much more are available to corporations, but there is still no desire to install cameras. Perhaps, of course, because these are not iCameras, but the more likely reason is that you donβt think about what your personal data is available to corporations on a device swirling from all sides (spoiler: everything). Perhaps after reading this note you will postpone the thought, that it would be nice to gradually and comfortably switch to devices without losing privacy, even using them in parallel for the first time, and a pleasant bonus would be the awareness of control over the digital part of life and an increase in the level of technical literacy.

Instead of a total
Of course, this is not a complete list of features and reflects only a brief personal opinion of the author, but enough for a start. The topic of security is very broad and it is impossible to cover everything at once. In an effort to ensure your privacy, you can go very far ( an example of a reference paranoia), but whether it is worth the time spent - everyone decides for himself. As for me, you need to stick to the golden mean when you can comfortably use the devices, but at the same time you are not a corporate voodoo doll.
