At a webinar hosted by the LoRa Alliance under the auspices of Semtech, the President of the DLMS User Association announced the forthcoming release of the first communication profile based on the LoRaWAN protocol. For over two years, the DLMS User Association and the LoRa Alliance have been working with each other to determine a reliable and secure way to support the DLMS protocol on the LoRaWAN network.
The ability to transfer data using the new communication profile was demonstrated in 2018 and in subsequent years at European Utility Week 2019 and Indian Smart Utility Week 2020 .
The new communication profile based on the LoRaWAN protocol is the main result of interaction between DLMS UA and the LoRa Alliance, which will ensure reliability and interoperability in future implementations of DLMS-enabled devices operating in the LoRaWAN network.
