David Levy believes that in 30 years sex and relationships with robots will become the norm. Futurist Ian Pearson is convinced that by 2050, robots will be much more popular in relationships and in life. There is no point in denying that technology is increasingly affecting all areas of our lives, including sex. Or does sex affect technology ?! In this post we will try to figure it out: what technologies does the sex industry present to us now, and how can it influence robotics in the future?

History of the issue
Androids for sex evolved from sex dolls, whose history dates back to the 16th century, when European sailors created companions from fabric, leather and old clothes. Interestingly, the first modern doll was allegedly commissioned by Hitler for soldiers in 1940. And in the 60s, Antarctica 1 and Antarctica 2 dolls kept scientists warm at the cold Showa station on East Ongul Island. But technology has taken a giant leap forward since then.
